Chrysler is recalling more than 300,000 Jeep plug-in hybrid SUVs because of a risk of battery fires.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that the recall affects 228,221 Jeep Wranglers from model years 2020 to 2025 and 91,844 Jeep Grand Cherokees from model years 2022 to 2026. Stellantis, Chrysler’s parent company, has confirmed at least 19 reports and one injury related to the issue.

As a remedy is being developed, NHTSA is advising owners to park their vehicles outside and away from structures, and not to charge them until the recall repair has been completed.
