The Edwards County FFA chapter earned top honors this fall during a series of Ag Sales Career Development Events, beginning with the Section competition on October 2 at Wabash Valley College. The contest required students to prepare and deliver a team sales presentation, answer judges’ questions, take a written exam, and complete an individual sales demonstration.
The team — comprised of Parker Biggs, Simon Greathouse, Chase Shelton, and Hallie Shelton — claimed first place overall. Individually, Chase Shelton finished first, Parker Biggs placed fourth, Hallie Shelton seventh, and Simon Greathouse tenth.
Advancing to the District Ag Sales competition on October 21 at Rend Lake College, the team again took first place. Both Parker Biggs and Hallie Shelton placed first in their respective rooms.
On November 8, the Edwards County Ag Sales team competed at the State Ag Sales Contest at Illinois State University and finished third overall. In individual rankings, Parker Biggs and Chase Shelton each earned first place in their rooms.
The strong showing at every level highlights another successful season for the Edwards County FFA.
