FAIRFIELD COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL BOARD TO HOLD REGULAR MEETING TONIGHT (MONDAY)

The Fairfield Community High School (FCHS) Board of Education is scheduled to hold its regular monthly meeting tonight (Monday) at 6:00 p.m. in the FCHS Study Hall. Items on the agenda include; the approval of minutes from the October 16th board meeting, financial reports, district account updates, and payment of bills. The board will feature a student focus segment highlighting the Terri Bryant Youth Council attendees. Reports from the superintendent and various committees are anticipated, including updates on the district’s revenue and expenses, recent CD rates and movements, curriculum committee activities, and results from the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) competitions. The principal will also present a report. Under old business, the board will consider approval of new courses for the 2025-2026 school year to be implemented in 2026-2027.

New business items on the agenda include a motion to close a 90-day certificate of deposit (CD), review of the School Report Card, and a presentation of the tentative 2025 tax levy for taxes payable in 2026 (with a vote to be held in December). The board will also discuss developing a new FCHS annual magazine, conduct a first reading of Press Policy 120, consider a motion to abate $120,000 from working cash to the transportation fund, and review district insurance renewal.

A closed session is planned to discuss matters related to staff appointments, employment, and retirement. Upon returning to open session, the board will address the appointment of volunteer girls wrestling coaches, reassignment of coaching positions, employment of a long-term substitute, and hiring for part-time kitchen work and supervision.
