Warren Edgar Walker, 90, of Opdyke, IL passed away at home on Sunday, November 16, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. Warren was born on March 4, 1935 in Mt. Erie, IL to Melvin Edgar Walker & Edna Irene Rogers.
Warren had multiple occupations in his lifetime, mostly in the automotive industry, including a self-owned paint & body shop in Mt. Vernon, IL. Warren was a car enthusiast, and he restored many old cars and won several trophies at various car shows. He loved attending car shows, fishing, hunting, and watching NASCAR and watching wrestling.
Warren is survived by his brother Loren Russell “Bert” Walker of Mt. Vernon, IL; his daughter Mary Ann (Phil) Scranton of West Salem, IL; his son and caretaker Warren (Diane) Walker of Opdyke, IL; his daughter Ramona (Alan) Spencer of Holly, MI; his son Carl (Cynthia) Walker of Waterford, MI; his son Keith (Tammy) Walker of Centralia, IL; and his son Kevin Walker of Daytona, FL. Warren had 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, stepchildren, stepgrandchildren, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Melvin Walker, and his sisters Doris Girvan and Martha Pryer.
Graveside funeral services for Warren Edgar Walker will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Brown Cemetery in Mt. Erie, IL with Pastor Shawn Kloster officiating. Those attending are asked to meet directly at the cemetery. A memorial luncheon will follow the graveside services at the Mt. Erie Ruritan Club building. Gholson Funeral Home of McLeansboro is assisting the family with arrangements.
