LADY MULES BASKETBALL:
The FCHS Lady Mules Basketball team had their first home game of the season Thursday night at the Mule Barn versus the Flora Lady Wolfgals. The Lady Mules JV squad opened the night with a dominating 44-10 win over Flora. The Lady Mules Varsity team continued the dominating trend with their own 63-22 victory over the Wolfgals. Fairfield was led in scoring by Riley Jolley with 14 points followed by Bentli Belva with 10 points. The Lady Mules won’t see action again until next Friday at the Mt. Carmel Lady Aces Tournament.

The St. Louis Blues couldn’t hold an early two-goal lead during a 3-2 overtime loss to the Philadelphia Flyers at Xfinity Mobile Arena. Justin Faulk scored a pair of first-period goals to give St. Louis an early lead, but the Blues allowed the game-tying goal in the third period and the game-winner in the fourth minute of OT. The Blues are in seventh place in the Central Division with 18 points. They visit the Islanders tomorrow afternoon.

The Chicago Blackhawks surrendered three goals in the third period of a 3-2 loss to the Seattle Kraken at United Center. Tyler Bertuzzi and Teuvo Teravainen both scored in the second period to give Chicago a two-goal lead before the third-period collapse. The Hawks are still tied for third place in the Central Division with 24 points. They visit the Sabres tonight.
