Illinois Extension offices serving Edwards, Lawrence, Richland, Wabash, and Wayne counties are continuing to accept food pantry donations through Monday, November 24th ensuring items reach local pantries ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Offices are open Monday–Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closing daily from noon to 1 p.m. for lunch. All donated items must be nonperishable and unexpired. Perishable items should be taken directly to food pantries.
Pantries have shared the following high-need items:
Edwards County: Any nonperishable items, canned goods, macaroni and cheese
Lawrence County: Meat, canned goods, pouch/canned tuna, ramen
Richland County: Canned chicken, soups, stews, fruit, pouch/canned tuna
Wabash County: Meat, milk, bread, canned fruit, spaghetti sauce, peanut butter and jelly, pancake mix and syrup, sloppy joe sauce, gloves, toilet paper
Wayne County: Milk, peanut butter, instant or microwaveable foods, toilet paper, feminine hygiene products, dish soap
