A Flora man has been confirmed as the winner of a $1 million prize in Monday night’s Illinois Powerball drawing. The winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous, purchased the lucky ticket at Midtown Package Liquors in Flora.
Store employees described him as a “regular” customer. He matched all five main numbers — 1, 14, 20, 46, and 51, but did not match the Powerball number. Had he done so, he would have won the full jackpot of $778.8 million.
Midtown Package Liquors, which also operates stores in Fairfield, Wayne City, Olney, and Robinson, will receive a retailer bonus for selling the winning ticket.
