In Thursday’s session of Wayne County Circuit Court, several defendants appeared on felony and misdemeanor charges.

28-year-old David Asher of Fairfield pleaded guilty to Unlawful Possession of a Stolen Firearm, a Class 2 felony. He was sentenced to two years of probation and ordered to pay court costs.
Asher also received a stayed sentence of 180 days in the Wayne County Jail, which may be imposed if he violates probation.
Per the plea agreement, three counts in three separate cases were dismissed, and any firearms or ammunition seized by Fairfield Police were forfeited to the department.
Joseph Wilson, 19 of Fairfield pleaded guilty to Unlawful Consumption of Alcohol. He was sentenced to one year of probation and ordered to pay court costs. One additional case was dismissed under the plea agreement.

McLeansboro resident, 39-year-old Amanda Scott admitted to violating the terms of a prior two-year probation sentence for Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine from November 2022.
Judge, Matt Vaughn sentenced Scott to three years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, with eight days credit for time served in the Wayne County Jail.
