The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department made three separate arrests over the weekend in cases involving drugs, child endangerment, and outstanding warrants.

Friday night, deputies responded around 11 p.m. to a report of possible criminal damage. While en route, they were informed the suspect vehicle had fled. The vehicle was located shortly afterward, having been involved in a crash. Two juveniles were found unsecured inside the vehicle, with two adults standing nearby. Aubrey E. Nowlan, 24, of Flora, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and endangering the life and health of a child.

Saturday night at approximately 8 p.m., deputies were conducting an investigation into suspected illicit drug sales at a rural Johnsonville residence. During the investigation, James R. Fenton, 32, of Johnsonville, was found in possession of methamphetamine. He was arrested and transported to the Wayne County Jail.

Around 2:40 p.m. Sunday, deputies observed 30-year-old Eric A. Shelby driving in Sims and recognized him as having a revoked license and outstanding warrants. Shelby pulled into a driveway and exited the vehicle before being detained. He was arrested for Driving on a Revoked License, Wayne and Richland County warrants, and possession of methamphetamine. Shelby was transported to the Wayne County Jail pending a detention hearing.
