On Saturday, the Fairfield Elk’s Lodge hosted the annual Wayne County Hoop Shoot Contest at Fairfield Community High School (FCHS). Young basketball enthusiasts from across the county competed for top honors in their respective age divisions. The results from each age group are as follows:
8-9 YEAR OLD BOYS:
1st: Lincoln Friend
2nd: Tucker Townsend
8-9 YEAR OLD GIRLS:
1st: Pyper Lewis
2nd: Ruth Michels
10-11 YEAR OLD BOYS:
1st: Luke Hughes
2nd: Jayson Rawls
10-11 YEAR OLD GIRLS:
1st: Kendyn Basnett
2nd: Cameron Talbert
12-13 YEAR OLD BOYS:
1st: Rhett Ellis
2nd: Isaac Vaughan
12-13 YEAR OLD GIRLS:
1st: Hanlee Wilson
2nd: Bella Lewis
The 1st place winners in each division have earned the opportunity to advance to the District Competition, which is set to take place at Franklin Middle School in Salem on January 17th.
