HAMILTON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL FOUNDATION LAUNCHES FULL-RIDE NURSING SCHOLARSHIP WITH REND LAKE COLLEGE

By Mark Wells Dec 12, 2025 | 11:55 AM

The Hamilton Memorial Hospital Foundation has announced a new full-ride Nursing Scholarship in collaboration with the Rend Lake College Foundation. This annual scholarship will support a local student pursuing a nursing degree at Rend Lake College, covering all tuition, fees, and books.
Graduating high school seniors can apply through the Rend Lake College Foundation Scholarships process, with the RLC Foundation overseeing administration and recipient selection. Preference will be given to applicants from Hamilton or White County.

This initiative highlights the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to both the hospital and the wider community. By investing in local students, the Foundation aims to bolster the future of healthcare in the region and help young people reach their educational goals without incurring debt.
Scholarship funding will be generated through the Foundation’s yearly fundraising events, including the Scholarship Golf Scramble each spring and the Foundation Gala each fall. These community-focused efforts make it possible to support students as they pursue healthcare careers and, ideally, return to serve their home communities.

“We hope to continue expanding our support for the community,” said Lindsay Hansen, Executive Director of the Hamilton Memorial Foundation. “Our Careers in Healthcare Scholarship Program has long helped students start their college journey. This new full-ride scholarship allows local students to graduate debt-free and build a future right here at home. It’s an investment in both healthcare and the next generation.”

The Hamilton Memorial Hospital Foundation is dedicated to enhancing community health and well-being. Supporting students, fostering healthcare careers, and collaborating with organizations like the Rend Lake College Foundation are central to this mission.
The Foundation invites community members to get involved. Anyone interested in serving on the Foundation Board of Directors or supporting programs like this scholarship is welcome to join; the board meets quarterly. For more information, call 643-5863.
