Illinois State Police continue to investigate traffic crash in Franklin County late Friday afternoon that resulted in the death of a pedestrian.
State police said one person was struck in the northbound lanes of I-57 near milepost 72 shortly before 6 p.m. Friday, and died from their injuries. The identity of the person was not immediately released.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene, according to the Franklin County Emergency Management and Communications Office.
No other details on the incident were immediately released.
