James Elvis Blazier, Sr. 90, of McLeansboro, IL. passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Mt. Vernon, IL. James was born June 25, 1935 in Carmi, IL. On December 3, 1954 he married Betty Joyce (Vines) Blazier and she survives.
James was a sewing machine mechanic for Ainsbrook Sewing Factory for many years. He was a Christian by faith; he loved to fish and work outside, especially gardening.
Survivors include his wife Betty, daughter Deborah Hoyt and husband Donald, Mt. Vernon, IL and a son James Elvis Blazier, Jr., Woodlawn, IL. Also surviving are grandchildren Matthew Hoyt and wife Angela, Angela Blazier and companion Justin, April Pitman, Daniel Blazier and wife Nicole. Fourteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren also survive including a brother Carl D Blazier and wife Tina, Decatur, IL.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Sisters Olidine Mick and Georgia Vines and a daughter-in-law Cindy Blazier.
Visitation for James Blazier will be Saturday, December 20, 2025 from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro. Funeral services will be Sunday, December 21, 2025 at 12:00 Noon at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Pollard officiating. Funeral Home doors will open Sunday at 9:00 A.M.
Burial will follow at Union Ridge Cemetery, New Haven, IL.
Memorials are requested for the American Cancer Association and may be left at the funeral home.
