The Fairfield Community High School Board of Education met Thursday night to address a range of business items, including approval of a new tax levy, technology purchases, and faculty changes.

During the meeting, the Board approved several motions. The consent agenda items A, C, and D were approved. A clarification was made to item 9B under New Business. The Board agreed to retain Baysinger Architects—the district’s current architect—to serve as the licensed design professional. Baysinger Architects will assist in developing a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a design-build contract for various classroom renovations, in accordance with Article 15A of the School Code.

The Board also accepted a bid from Lewis Scrap Metal to purchase Bus 1 and Bus 13 for $1,625 each, totaling $3,300.

In further action, the Board adopted new board policies and revisions from Press Issue 120.

The 2025 tax levy, payable in 2026, was adopted.

Technology was also on the agenda, with the Board approving the purchase of Chromebooks for fiscal year 2026 from Charley Inc. at a total cost of $52,200.

Additionally, the Board reaffirmed its decision to retain Baysinger Architects to assist with the RFP process for classroom renovations.

Following the Executive Session, the Board accepted the resignation of Justin Sanders as Head Cross Country Coach. Rick White was re-hired as a long-term substitute.

The evening’s Student Focus was led by instructor Mrs. Shelby Benskin and students Athena Crnovich, Megan Howard, and Hunter Snee, who presented on the Pride House initiative.
