Firefighters from the Cisne Fire Department, assisted by mutual aid from the West Salem Fire Department, responded to a structure fire Sunday morning at a residence in Mt. Erie.
The fire was reported at approximately 10:46 a.m. at the Mandy Fox residence at 201 Mulberry Street. Cisne Fire Chief, Josh Smith said a passerby noticed smoke coming from the home and reported it to authorities.
According to Chief Smith, Fox was not at home at the time of the fire and the home was a total loss and the family lost everything. Fire crews remained on the scene for approximately four hours and 20 minutes working to control and extinguish the blaze.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No injuries were reported.
