46-year-old Joshua W. Walker of Fairfield, was hospitalized Thursday afternoon after his vehicle overturned while he attempted to avoid a deer on Enterprise Road.
Wayne County Sheriff’s Department said the accident occurred around 1 p.m. as Walker was driving south on Route 1 in a 2023 Kia SUV near County Road 1866 in Elm River Township. Walker swerved to avoid a deer that entered the roadway, lost control, and struck a ditch, causing the vehicle to overturn near a body of water.
Walker was able to exit the overturned SUV but sustained injuries in the crash. He was transported by Wayne County Ambulance personnel to Fairfield Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries.
