Debbie Lee (Biggerstaff) Powers, 67, of Wayne City, IL passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN.  Debbie was born on May 14, 1958 in McLeansboro, IL to William “Bill” Biggerstaff & Hazel (Redmon) Buchanan.  On March 20, 1975 she married Larry Powers, who survives.

Debbie worked as a housekeeper at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.  She worked up until the time of her illness, often working multiple jobs to help support her family. Though she never sought the spotlight, her strength and faith lit up the lives of everyone who knew her. Through every joy and hardship, her trust in Jesus never wavered. Her prayers were constant, and her legacy of faith was unshakable.

Though she will forever be deeply missed, we find comfort knowing that she is now at peace, rejoicing in heaven, and hearing the words “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Debbie is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Larry Powers of Wayne City, IL; her son Larry A. Powers of McLeansboro, IL; her daughter Faith (Clinton) Chambliss of Wayne City, IL; 4 grandchildren: Christian (Abigail) Powers of McLeansboro, Aidan (Heaven) Powers of Scott City, MO; Minnie Chambliss of Wayne City, and Stryker Chambliss of Wayne City; 2 brothers: Larry (Sharon) Biggerstaff and Tim Biggerstaff; one sister Angie (Marty) Needham; and her friend & caretaker Tina McCormick.

The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Tina McCormick for her years of love and help in caring for Debbie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her mother-in-law & father-in-law Minnie & Roy Powers, and her brother David Biggerstaff.
