WAYNE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE REPORTS MULTIPLE ARRESTS, RECOVERED STOLEN ATV

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department handled several incidents this week resulting in arrests and criminal charges.

On Monday, deputies received a report of a stolen four-wheeler from a residence in rural Burnt Prairie. Following an investigation, a juvenile suspect was taken into custody for the theft. The four-wheeler was later located and recovered in a rural area near Mt. Erie. The juvenile faces a charge of theft over $500.

Also on Monday, deputies conducted an investigation involving 32-year-old Jesus N. B. Guzman of Fairfield. Authorities determined that Guzman, who was on pretrial release for multiple charges including grooming a juvenile, had violated the conditions of his release by having physical contact with the alleged victim. Guzman was located at a residence in Geff and taken into custody. He is being held in the Wayne County Jail on a charge of violation of pretrial conditions.

Early Wednesday, at approximately 4:30 a.m., Wayne County deputies responded to a residence in Cisne for a reported domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, a deputy heard a female screaming for help inside the locked residence and forced entry. A female victim was found with blood on her face and clothing. She reported that the suspect, identified as 50-year-old Robert J. Irvin of Cisne, had fled out the back door after striking her multiple times, including with a telephone. Irvin was located a short time later walking nearby and was taken into custody.

Irvin has been charged with aggravated domestic battery and interfering with the reporting of domestic battery and is being held in the Wayne County Jail pending a court appearance,
