
A small aircraft crashed Wednesday in Jackson County near Southern Illinois Airport during a landing attempt, according to airport officials.
A representative for the airport confirmed the pilot was not injured in the incident. Emergency procedures were immediately implemented, and airport personnel responded quickly to the scene.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have been notified and are investigating the cause of the crash.
