The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department is conducting a death investigation after a deceased individual was discovered in a vehicle parked at the Speedway Fuel Station near Interstate 57 in Ina on Friday night.
Authorities responded to the scene around 8:30 p.m., where employees reported that the vehicle had been parked at the gas station for several weeks. Sheriff Jeff Bullard confirmed that the individual has been positively identified and is from out of state.
At this time, no foul play is suspected, though the investigation remains ongoing. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation, which is currently being classified as a “death investigation.” No further information has been released.
