The Jefferson County Republican Central Committee has announced plans to host a Governor Candidate Forum in Mount Vernon later this month, giving area residents an opportunity to hear directly from Republican candidates seeking Illinois’ top office.
The forum is scheduled for Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the Rolland W. Lewis Building, located at 800 South 27th Street in Mount Vernon. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with the forum beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Organizers say the event will allow candidates to share their vision for the future of Illinois and respond to questions on issues important to local voters. A food truck will be available on-site for those attending.
