Jennifer Lynn Holland, 42, of Carmi, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Wabash Senior Living in Carmi. She was born on July 9,1983, in Carmi, the daughter of John Franklin Holland and Virginia Lea Wardrip. Jennifer graduated from Brownsville School in May 2004, and remained active with the Brownsville Alumni, attending yearly events. She got engaged on February 14, 2018, to William “Alan” Edge. She enjoyed watching horror movies, especially “Leprechaun”, watching wrestling and making art.
Jennifer had a loving and kind heart. She would always put others before herself and would give her everything to make you smile. Jennifer was always seen with a smile on her face and had a special way of making people feel loved. Her presence brought light to everyone around her
Jennifer is survived by her fiancé, William “Alan” Edge; a brother, Patrick Ryan (Keshia) Holland of McLeansboro, IL; her aunt and guardian, Mary Martin of Carmi, IL; her adopted sisters, Mariah Hawkins, Ebonie Hawkins and Jessica Ross; her sister-in-law, Heidi Holland of Evansville, IN; two nieces; a nephew; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Brian Keith Holland; and her grandma, Mary Alice Wardrip.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Roberts and Cook Funeral Service in the Carmi chapel, 101 Edgewood Lane, Carmi, Illinois, with Pastor Dallas Robinson officiating. Burial will follow immediately at North Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi. Family and friends may visit from 11:30 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Roberts and Cook Funeral Service, to assist the family with final expenses. Roberts and Cook Funeral service has been entrusted with the arrangements.
