The City of Carmi has announced that, over the next few months, it will be working with a contractor to complete the final phase of a multi-year water meter replacement initiative. This project is being funded through grant money and IEPA loan proceeds.
Residents may notice a white flag placed near their water meter during this process. The city is asking customers to leave the flag in place until the meter has been replaced. Once the work is completed, the contractor will remove the flag.
Contractors will be using side-by-sides as they replace the meters throughout the city. The City of Carmi appreciates the community’s cooperation and patience as they work to upgrade the water system.
