Three individuals received sentences in Wayne County Circuit Court this week.

Brian K. Simpson, 53, of Fairfield, was sentenced by Judge Matt Vaughn to 10 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a Class 1 felony charge of Child Pornography. The case dates back to November 2024. Upon completion of his prison sentence, Simpson will serve a mandatory supervised release period ranging from three years to natural life. He was also ordered to pay court costs and was given credit for 212 days already served in the Wayne County Jail.

Wesley A. Cone, 43, of Fairfield, admitted to violating a previous term of probation related to a September 2022 charge of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. Judge Vaughn sentenced Cone to nine years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, along with court costs. He was credited with 99 days already served in the Wayne County Jail.
Alyssa M. Collins, 26, of Mt. Vernon, also admitted to violating a previous term of probation stemming from an Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine charge. Collins was re-sentenced to 24 months of probation and ordered to pay court costs.
