As part of the ongoing Illinois 154 Rend Lake Bridge Replacement Project, portions of the lake beneath the Illinois 154 bridge will be closed to all boat traffic starting Monday, according to the Rend Lake Project Office and Visitor Center.
The project will improve roadway conditions, replace the existing bridge, and construct a 10-foot-wide concrete multi-use path along Illinois 154 from Fitzgerrell Park Drive to Larry Foster Parkway. This new path will provide a key connection to the existing Rend Lake Bike Trail.
Further updates will be provided when the area reopens to boat traffic.
