Anita Mitchell 73, of McLeansboro, IL. passed away Sunday, January 18, 2026 at St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri. Anita was born August 31, 1952 in Emma, IL. a daughter of Clyde Sanders and Clarella (Shoppell) Sanders.
Anita was a CNA. She enjoyed playing Solitaire and watching her grandchildren participate in sports and other activities.
Survivors include her daughters, Bobbi Williams and husband Gary, McLeansboro, Kerri McKnight, Carmi, IL. and Joni Bowles, Vienna, IL. Her son Phillip Bowles Mt Vernon, IL. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Isaac and Izabell Williams, Laci Huffstutler, Bryce McKnight, Chase Veach and Zachery Bowles.
Anita is preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, Paislee Veach and three sisters.
Visitation for Anita Mitchell will be Monday, January 26, 2026 from 10:00 A.M.-12:00 Noon with the funeral service beginning at Noon. Pastor Jason Moore will officiate. Burial will follow the funeral service at Big Prairie Cemetery, Epworth, IL.
