EDWARDS COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD OF EDUCATION TO HOLD REGULAR MEETING AND PUBLIC HEARING TONIGHT

The regular meeting and public hearing of the Edwards County School Board of Education will be held tonight at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will take place in Room 122 (Band Room) at Edwards County K-12.

The agenda includes the following key items:

Approval of minutes from previous meetings and financial reports

Public participation and communications, including thank you letters and cards

Spotlight presentations

Discussion of unfinished and new business, such as the consideration and action on a resolution for the issuance of approximately $3.1 million in General Obligation School Bonds, which will be used for refunding certain outstanding bonds and increasing the district’s working cash fund

Authorization for the sale of the bonds and the levy of an annual tax to pay principal and interest

Motions regarding the release of fuel bids and purchases of items over $5,000, including an automotive lift and a used small wheelchair lift bus

Approval of trips over 150 miles, including the AGS 7th Grade trip to Springfield, IL, and the ECHS Senior Class trip to Louisville, Ky

Approval of the FY 26 ISBE School Maintenance Project Grant and various camps and fundraisers for EC Panthers Girls Basketball and ECHS Cheer

Acceptance of donations over $500 for the Music and Ag Departments

First readings of several board policies, including fiscal and business management, revenue and investments, accounting and audits, equal employment opportunity, child abuse reporting, staff development, employment terms, and field trip procedures

Administrative reports from Superintendent David Cowger and building principals

Personnel considerations, including resignations, new employment in fall sports, volunteer approvals, and leave of absence requests

Closed session to discuss personnel matters, student discipline, and collective negotiations

Action on closed session minutes, open discussion, and adjournment
