A chimney (flue) fire was reported Saturday morning at 10:53 a.m. at 996 County Road 1300E, northwest of the Boyleston crossroads.
Fairfield Rural Fire Department, Fairfield City Fire Department, and Wayne County Ambulance personnel responded to the scene at the Kenny Smith residence. According to Fairfield Rural Fire Chief David Vaughan, the fire caused minor damage to the home. Crews were on scene for about an hour, and no injuries were reported.
