(Lake Forest, IL) — Nahshon Wright is being honored for a dominant 2025 season. The Chicago Bears cornerback was named to the NFC Pro Bowl yesterday. Wright broke out during his 2025 campaign. The 27-year-old had five interceptions and three fumble recoveries this season.

(Costa Mesa, CA) — The Chargers are locking up a member of their defensive front with a new deal. ESPN is reporting that Los Angeles is signing defensive tackle Teair Tart [[ tee-AIR ]] to a three-year contract extension worth up to 37.5-million dollars. The deal includes 20-million dollars guaranteed. The 28-year-old just wrapped up his second season with the Chargers, totaling 32 tackles, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery as one of the top run stoppers in the league. LA also announced the official hiring of new offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel on Monday.

(Undated) — The Bills are still searching for a new head coach after one candidate pulled out. According to The Athletic, former NFL quarterback Philip Rivers has withdrawn from Buffalo’s coaching search. Rivers had interviewed for the job last week in Florida. The Bills are still considering Broncos pass game coordinator Davis Webb, who interviewed on Monday, and Jaguars offensive coordinator Grant Udinksi. Starting quarterback Josh Allen has been part of the interview process.

(Cleveland, OH) — A Browns rookie is being recognized for his remarkable season. ESPN reports Shedeur Sanders was added to the Pro Bowl Games roster on Monday. He replaces Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, who helped guide his team to Super Bowl 60. Sanders started the final seven games of Cleveland’s lost season and threw for 1,400 yards to go with seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

(Undated) — The NBA is releasing its “Rising Stars” rosters ahead of All-Star weekend in Los Angeles. Mavericks forward Cooper Flagg headlines the list of rookies. The top selection in June’s draft is joined by Spurs guard Dylan Harper and 76ers backcourt menace VJ Edgecombe, who were taken second-and-third overall. The Sophomore team is led by Wizards center Alex Sarr and Rockets guard Reed Sheppard. The Rising Stars challenge tips off on February 13th.

>>Report: Giants Sign OF Harrison Bader To Two-Year Deal

(San Francisco, CA) — The Giants are adding an experienced outfielder to their roster. The Athletic reports that San Francisco is inking free agent center fielder Harrison Bader to a two-year, 20.5-million dollar contract. The 31-year-old spent last season split between the Minnesota Twins and Philadelphia Phillies, where he batted .277 with 17 homers and 54 RBIs through 146 games. The Giants will be the seventh different team that Bader has suited up for since the start of the 2022 season.

(Champaign, IL) — Keaton Wagler earned a pair of conference awards yesterday. The Illini guard was named the Big Ten Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week. Wagler scored 46 points in Illinois’ upset win over Purdue on Saturday. He averaged 29-and-a-half points and six assists in two games last week. Wagler and the Illini host Washington on Thursday.

 

>>Week 13 Men’s College Basketball Coaches Poll

(Undated) — The top three teams remain unchanged in the latest men’s college basketball coaches poll. Arizona, Michigan and UConn are once again leading the nation. Duke is up one spot to number four and Nebraska rose two spots to number five. Gonzaga, Houston, Michigan State, Iowa State and Illinois (#9) round out the remainder of the top 10. Miami of Ohio and Iowa are both ranked number 25 after not being included in last week’s poll. Georgia has dropped out of the top 25.

>>Blue Jackets-Kings Postponed

(Columbus, OH) — Monday night’s matchup between the Blue Jackets and Kings was postponed due to the impacts of this weekend’s winter storm. Columbus will wrap up its homestand Wednesday against the Philadelphia Flyers. The Jackets are 24-20-and-7 entering the matchup. Los Angeles will return to the ice Tuesday against the Detroit Red Wings in the Motor City. The Kings are 21-16-and-13 this season.

>>Stanford, Family Of Katie Meyer Settle Wrongful Death Lawsuit

(Undated) — Stanford and the family of former women’s soccer captain and goalkeeper Katie Meyer announced that they have settled a wrongful death lawsuit filed against the university. Meyer died by suicide in 2022 while facing disciplinary action for allegedly spilling coffee on a Stanford football player who was accused of sexually assaulting one of her teammates. The lawsuit stated that on the night of her death, the school “negligently and recklessly” sent her the formal disciplinary notice that contained threatening language regarding sanctions and potential removal from the university. The school and Meyer’s family also announced that the university will create a Katie Meyer Leadership Award to be given to an exceptional Stanford student-athlete each year.

(Undated) — The Australian Open continued with a handful of big-time matchups. Novak Djokovic punched his ticket into the quarterfinal round with a walkover win over 16th-seeded Jakub Mensik. The 24-time major champion will now square off against fifth-seeded Lorenzo Musetti with a spot in the semifinals on the line. Eighth-seeded American Ben Shelton was victorious in four sets over 12th-seeded Casper Ruud in the fourth round, while third-seeded Alexander Zverev took down 25th-seeded American Learner Tien in a four-set quarterfinal. On the women’s side, top-seeded Aryna Sabalenka locked up a spot in the semifinals with a straight sets win over 29th-seeded American Iva Jovic, while second-seeded Iga Swiatek took down Maddison Inglis in straight sets to advance to the quarterfinals.
