Celeste Farris Garrett has announced her candidacy for Wayne County Treasurer, bringing a wealth of financial expertise and deep community roots to the race. Born and raised in Fairfield, Garrett holds a Bachelor of Science in Business with a focus on Accounting, an MBA, and an Honorary PhD in Leadership, reflecting her dedication to education and service. She is a Licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Illinois, Tennessee, and Florida, and is also certified in leadership and behavioral analysis, ensuring strong team and organizational performance.

Her career spans roles from controller at a multi-billion dollar company—where she managed a $975 million budget and reconciled $12 billion in revenue—to advising startups on financial management and implementing cutting-edge accounting systems. Garrett’s international experience includes overseeing financial operations and software implementation for companies in 27 countries.

After returning to Fairfield in 2022 to care for her parents, Garrett continues to provide CFO and accounting services remotely, while also offering tax preparation, business start-up guidance, and leadership training.

Garrett cites her global financial experience, advanced education, and dedication to community as reasons she is the most qualified candidate for Wayne County Treasurer. She looks forward to giving back to her hometown with proven financial stewardship and leadership. Garrett will be running on the Republican ticket against current Wayne County Treasurer, Yvette Anderson who is seeking re-election.
