FAIRFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASES JANUARY 2026 ACTIVITY SUMMARY

The Fairfield Police Department has released its summary of activity for January 2026, highlighting the extensive efforts of local emergency services throughout the month.

According to Chief Ben Lewis, the Fairfield Police Department Dispatch Center, which operates Wayne County 911, processed a total of 2,390 phone calls in January. These calls resulted in approximately 1,050 calls for service, including:

752 law enforcement calls (all agencies)
193 EMS calls (all agencies)
104 fire service calls (all agencies)

Responding to these calls generated around 85,000 radio communications among emergency personnel. Within the Fairfield Police Department itself, officers handled:

530 calls for service
6 arrests
4 criminal citations
88 traffic stops
41 traffic citations

Chief Lewis expressed gratitude for the dedication of Fairfield’s officers and dispatchers, as well as all emergency services personnel.
