Fairfield Memorial Hospital (FMH) has been nationally recognized by the American Heart Association (AHA) and American Stroke Association as a 2025 Get With The Guidelines® – Rural Stroke Silver Achievement Award Hospital, honoring FMH’s dedication to providing high-quality, evidence-based stroke care to rural patients.

The Rural Stroke Silver Achievement Award is given to hospitals that consistently meet nationally recognized, research-based treatment guidelines for stroke care. This ensures patients receive the most effective treatment to improve outcomes and quality of life.

The AHA’s Get With The Guidelines® program assists hospitals nationwide in applying the latest evidence-based protocols for treating cardiovascular disease and stroke. Hospitals earning the Rural Stroke Silver designation must meet strict performance measures, demonstrating their commitment to continual improvement in stroke care and patient outcomes.

“This recognition reflects the unwavering dedication of our emergency and clinical teams to delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based stroke care to the community we proudly serve,” said Hollie Barrett, FMH Chief Nursing Officer. “Earning the Rural Stroke Silver Achievement Award as recognized by the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association demonstrates our commitment to excellence and to ensuring our community has timely access to lifesaving stroke treatment close to home.”

Stroke remains a leading cause of death and long-term disability in the United States. By participating in the Get With The Guidelines® program, Fairfield Memorial Hospital ensures stroke patients benefit from rapid diagnosis, prompt treatment, and coordinated care—critical factors in reducing disability and saving lives.
