A nationwide recall of Chips Ahoy! Baked Bites Brookie has been expanded, according to a new alert issued by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Wednesday. The updated recall now includes additional pouches of the product that were sold at a limited number of retail stores across the country.
Mondelez Global LLC, the company behind Chips Ahoy!, first announced the voluntary recall in December. The recall was prompted by an incorrect mixing process that caused the formation of small cornstarch clumps in the product.
The FDA reports that there have been no injuries or illnesses associated with the recalled product, and no other Chips Ahoy! or Mondelez Global LLC products are affected by this recall. Consumers are encouraged to check their packages and follow recall instructions if they have purchased the affected product.
