Fairfield Memorial Hospital has announced a significant upgrade to its diagnostic imaging services with the addition of the state-of-the-art Shimadzu MX8 Mobile Digital Radiography Imaging System. The hospital’s investment in the new technology underscores its ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. The Shimadzu MX8 system features Canon’s advanced Built-in Automatic Exposure Control Assistance (BiAA), which supports consistent image quality while optimizing radiation exposure. This innovative technology enables real-time monitoring of exposure levels and direct communication with the X-ray generator, eliminating the need for external sensors. The system’s versatility allows for reliable imaging in various clinical settings, including bedside exams.
Patients at Fairfield Memorial Hospital will benefit from clearer, more precise images, reduced radiation exposure, and shorter exam times thanks to the MX8’s rapid image acquisition and smart processing. The technology also minimizes the need for repeat imaging, creating a more efficient and comfortable diagnostic experience.
For clinical staff, the new system promises enhanced workflow, improved diagnostic confidence, and supports timely, accurate healthcare decisions, allowing them to dedicate more attention to patient care. The procurement and installation of the MX8 was completed in collaboration with Electromek Diagnostic Systems, whose technical support was instrumental throughout the process.
“This new imaging system represents an important investment in modern healthcare technology,” said a hospital spokesperson. “By embracing advanced diagnostic tools, Fairfield Memorial Hospital remains dedicated to improving clinical outcomes and enhancing the patient experience.”
The addition of the Shimadzu MX8 Mobile Digital Radiography System marks another step forward in Fairfield Memorial Hospital’s mission to provide exceptional care close to home.
