A Fairfield man facing kidnapping and drug charges has been released from custody following a pretrial hearing in Wayne County Circuit Court. 54-year-old Jamie Lynn Vaughan was released Wednesday under an agreement with State’s Attorney Kyle Ellis. As part of his release conditions, Vaughan will be monitored with a GPS device and is required to submit to regular drug testing. His next court appearance is scheduled for March 24th.

Vaughan had been in jail since his arrest last July, when he was accused of padlocking himself and a female victim inside a camper while allegedly armed. He faces multiple charges in Wayne County, including aggravated kidnapping and meth delivery, both Class X felonies, along with aggravated unlawful restraint, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and meth possession.
At the time of his July arrest, Vaughan was also awaiting trial in Jefferson County on a Class X felony charge of meth delivery, and in Wayne County on a 2023 charge of aggravated battery of an individual over 60 years old.
