Donald W. Hutchison, 78, of Carmi passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at Deaconess Henderson Hospital in Henderson, KY surrounded by his family. He was born on September 4, 1947 in Norris City, IL the son of Barney and Dortha Lee (McArthy) Hutchison. Donald married Patricia Kay Ham on September 25, 1973 and they shared over 52 years of marriage together. Donald was apart of the VFW auxiliary in Olney, IL. His hobbies included car races, circle tracks, and sitting outside on his porch with friends and family.
Donald is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patricia Kay Hutchison of Carmi, IL; his children, Kay (C.A.) Bryant of Harrisburg, IL and Steve Hutchison of Carmi; siblings, Charles Ray Hutchison, Katherine Jean Harrelson, Shirley Dean Mooney, Peggy Joy (Jerry) Denison, and Garry Glen Hutchison; grandchildren, Cadence and Caden Burzynski; and several nieces and nephews. Donald was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild, Aaron Bryant.
Funeral Services for Donald W. Hutchison, 78, of Carmi will be held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, March 1, 2026 at Campbell funeral Home in Carmi. Burial will follow in Old Sharun Cemetery in Norris City. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 1, 2026 from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at 1:30 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is assisting the family with arrangements.
