A group of Champion retirees and friends will host a special carry-out lunch next month to honor former employees who recently lost their jobs.
The Champion Employee Appreciation Day Carry Out Lunch is scheduled for Friday, March 6th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will be held at the Pagoda on the Albion Courthouse Square.
The lunch is being sponsored by Champion Retirees and Friends as a way to recognize the service and dedication of employees who were affected by recent job losses at Champion. Organizers say they want to show their appreciation for the years of commitment given to the company.
In a statement, the group said they would be honored to have former employees stop by for a free carry-out meal in appreciation of their service to what they described as “a great company.”
Organizers say they hope to see many familiar faces at the event.
