Thelma Kaye Campbell, 86, of Fairfield

82 year old Fairfield resident, Thelma Kaye Campbell passed away Tuesday morning March 2, 2026.

 

Thelma was born November 21, 1943 in Rolla, Missouri to Harvey and Minnie (Weiss) Reynolds.

 

Thelma met her husband Jerry while shopping with her twin sister Velma for a pair of gloves for their father Harvey. Jerry was the sales clerk. When they left the store, Jerry remarked that Thelma was going to be the girl he was going to marry. Which then led to 59 year marriage between the two before Jerry’s passing in 2023. Thelma was a avid animal lover which stemmed from being raised on Grandpa Reynolds farm in Rolla, MO. Thelma enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals with her husband Jerry, and especially loved Yadier Molina. Thelma would sometimes stay in Evansville with her daughter & granddaughter’s and loved to watch the food network. She will be deeply missed by the family, including her beautiful smile and laughter.

 

She was preceded in death by his parents, a twin sister and husband.

 

Thelma is survived by her children; Julie Schumann of Evansville, IN, James (Tammy) Campbell of Rolla, MO, Jeffrey Campbell of Schnecksville, PA and Jonathon Campbell of Decatur, IL. One brother; Richard Reynolds of Terre Haute, IN and one sister; Carolyn (Steven) Honse of Bettendorf, Iowa. Four grandchildren; Trevor Campbell, Jenna Greene, Isla Schumann and Lilian Campbell.

 

Graveside Services for Thelma Kaye Campbell will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2026 at Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, 1:00 p.m. to service time at Nale’s Funeral Home.

 

Nale’s Funeral Home of Fairfield is assisting the family.
