THREE SENTENCED IN WAYNE COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT THURSDAY

Three defendants appeared before Judge Matt Vaughn in Wayne County Circuit Court on Thursday, facing sentences related to probation violations and criminal trespass.

Randall G. Legg, 51, of Fairfield, admitted in open court to violating a previous order of probation stemming from an unlawful possession of methamphetamine charge dating back to June 2024. Judge Vaughn sentenced Legg to five years in the Illinois Department of Corrections and ordered him to pay court costs. Legg was given credit for 106 days already served.

William Hudson, 22, of Effingham, also admitted to violating probation on a prior unlawful possession of methamphetamine conviction. He was resentenced to a new two-year term of probation and assessed court costs.

 

Amanda L. French, 38, of Mt. Vernon, pled guilty to criminal trespass to vehicles, a Class A misdemeanor. French was sentenced to one year of conditional discharge and ordered to pay court costs. She received credit for three days already served. Per a plea agreement, two additional counts in her case were dismissed.
