Fairfield City Council to Meet Tuesday Night

The Fairfield City Council will hold its regular meeting on Tuesday, March 10th at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will take place in the Council Chambers at 109 NE 2nd St., Fairfield. The agenda will include an opening prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance, roll call, approval of the previous meeting’s minutes, and approval of bills. Public comments will be heard before the council moves on to routine business. Key agenda items include:

Girl Scout Week Proclamation

CASA for Kids Presentation – Representatives will discuss the Court Appointed Special Advocates program.

Consideration of a request to close Market Avenue on May 2nd from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for the Family Literacy Fest.

Introduction of new guidelines for business district grants.

Agreements with local businesses Uniquely Rustique and Blessed Blooms regarding the business district.

A resolution authorizing the purchase of natural gas from Pefa, Inc., including approval of related documents and bond issuance, as well as an amendment to the existing natural gas management agreement.

A financial report and other miscellaneous matters will also be addressed. The council may enter into executive session before adjourning.
