EDWARDS COUNTY FFA MEMBERS PARTICIPATE IN PARLIAMENTARY PROCEDURE, CONDUCT OF CHAPTER MEETINGS, AND ENVIROTHON COMPETITIONS

The Edwards County FFA recently competed in the Section 23 Parliamentary Procedure at Richland County High School and finished in 3rd Place. Members of the team included Parker Biggs, Hayley Perry, Quentin Pike, Chase Shelton, Hallie Shelton, and Carlin St. Ledger. For this competition, members were required to take a written test, perform an 11-minute presentation of parliamentary procedure, and answer oral questions following the presentation. Parker Biggs also received 3rd place as Chairman.

The Edwards County FFA also competed in the Section 23 Conduct of Chapter Meetings at Richland County High School. The team members were Chloe Doan, Bristol Duncan, Jeter Duncan, Eli Garrett, Kandy Juan-Rodas, Hallie Shelton, and Sydney Williams. For this competition, members had to take a written test, perform opening ceremonies, and conduct a business meeting. The team placed fourth overall and Hallie Shelton placed 4th place as Chairman.

Edwards County FFA members, along with students enrolled in science courses at the high school, also recently competed in Envirothon at the Wabash County 4-H Fairgrounds. Envirothon is a competition that tests students’ knowledge of the natural environment. There are five different tests the students take as a team, including Forestry, Wildlife, Aquatics, Soils, and a 5th Issue. Edwards County had three teams compete and placed second as a school. Team members were Kayden Alexander, Aurora Cullison, Karmyn Ducan, Talynn Eaton, Abby Gill, Audrey Greatline, Kylah Lingafelter, Chassis Morris, Brayden Sanford, Hallie Shelton, Carlin St. Ledger, Erik Wallace, Ivory Wayland, and Jackson Weiler. The team is coached by Mrs. Lacey Arnold and Mrs. Michelle Wiseman.
