Two defendants appeared before Judge Matt Vaughan in Wayne County Circuit Court on Thursday on petitions to revoke their probation.

The first defendant, Christopher Kennedy, 46, of Sims, entered a guilty plea for violating the terms of his 2-year probation from a 2023 conviction of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, a Class 3 felony.
Kennedy was sentenced to an additional 2 years of probation and given a 180 day suspended sentence. He was also ordered to continue paying $1,205 in fines and court costs.

The second defendant, Isaiah Shelton, 26, of Fairfield, pled guilty to violating the terms of his 18-month probation from an April 2023 conviction of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, a Class 3 felony.
Shelton was arrested in October 2025 on a Petition to Revoke said probation.
The defendant was resentenced on Thursday to a new term of 2 years probation and was given a 180 day suspended jail sentence. Shelton was also ordered to pay $700 of the remaining fines and court costs.
