Jesus Guzman, 32, of Fairfield, was back in Wayne County Circuit Court on Thursday to faces charges and sentencing on three separate felonies.
Guzman, facing a Class 1 felony charge of Methamphetamine Delivery, entered a guilty plea to the charge and was sentenced to 15 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. He will be required to serve at least 50% of his sentence before release. He was also given 1 year of Mandatory Supervised release.
The defendant was also facing a Class 4 felony charge of Grooming. Guzman entered a guilty plea to said charge and was sentenced to 6 years in IDOC with 1 year of Mandatory Supervised Release.
Guzman’s final charge was a Class 3 felony Methamphetamine Possession. Guzman also pled guilty to this charge and was sentenced to 5 years in IDOC with 6 months Mandatory Supervised Release.
Two other Class 3 felony counts of Methamphetamine Possession were dropped in exchange for the plea.
Other fines and court fees will be assessed at a later date and all of the IDOC sentences will run concurrently.
Guzman will also be required to register as a Sex Offender upon his release from prison
