The West Salem Development Association announces preparations for the 2026 West Salem Farmers Market. Training for market managers and planning activities are underway this month, with vendor recruitment and sign-ups continuing throughout April.

A vendor meeting is planned for early to mid-May, setting the stage for the market’s opening day. The West Salem Farmers Market is scheduled to run every Friday morning from 9 a.m. to noon, beginning May 29th and continuing through August 28th, pending final confirmation of dates.

Organizers are actively seeking a wide variety of vendors, including those offering fruits, vegetables, garden and orchard produce, eggs, honey, baked goods, breads, cottage foods, approved home-canned items, dairy, grains, meat and poultry, plants, flowers, and homemade arts and crafts.

Community and health organizations, churches, associations, and businesses are encouraged to get involved by sponsoring family or youth activities, events, or educational outreach programs. Youth participants—whether individuals or groups such as 4-H, FFA, church youth, or sports teams—are especially welcome, as the market aims to highlight and support young entrepreneurs.

Music, entertainment, health and wellness advocates, and business and community outreach participants are also being sought for the season. One outside food trailer will be permitted each Friday, and interested vendors are encouraged to reserve their spot early.

Local businesses can further support the market through signage, outreach, and coupon programs. For more information or to get involved, community members are invited to comment or message the West Salem Development Association Facebook page.
