HYUNDAI HALTS SALES OF 2026 PALISADE SUVS, ANNOUNCES RECALL AFTER FATAL OHIO INCIDENT

Hyundai has announced a halt in sales of certain 2026 Palisade SUVs following the tragic death of a two-year-old girl in Ohio earlier this month. The automaker is preparing a recall due to an issue with the vehicles’ power-folding seats, which may fail to properly detect contact with an occupant or object.

The recall affects the 2026 Palisade Limited and Calligraphy trims. According to officials, the incident that prompted the action involved one of these models, where the seat’s safety detection system did not function as intended.

Hyundai has offered its deepest sympathies to the family of the child and is cooperating with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the ongoing investigation and recall process.

The company urges owners of affected models to stay alert for official recall notifications and to contact their local Hyundai dealer for more information or assistance regarding the safety of their vehicle.
