The North Wayne Community Unit School District #200 Board of Education met Wednesday night at Cisne Middle School. During the meeting, the board approved several items on the consent agenda, including:
Approval of the minutes from the February 18, 2026, regular board meeting.
Approval of personal leave days and dock days requests.
Renewal of IHSA membership for CHS.
Renewal of SIJHSAA and IESA memberships for CMS.
Acceptance of the resignation of Summer Braden as CHS Assistant Coach for volleyball and softball, effective at the end of the school year.
Acceptance of the resignation of Kera Vinson as CMS RTI Aide and CMS Head Volleyball Coach, effective at the end of the school year.
Rehiring of Lauren Grace Conard as CMS Math Teacher, correcting her omission from last month’s rehire list.
In new business, the board:
Approved payment of March bills.
Authorized Superintendent Ellis to determine Kindergarten placement for three students at his discretion.
Approved the FCCLA’s participation in the state competition in Springfield, April 8-10.
Approved the post-prom trip as presented.
Authorized Superintendent Ellis to seek bids for gasoline, diesel, and LP for FY27.
Authorized Superintendent Ellis to seek bids for various types of rock (1” CA7, CA6, and CA16) for FY27.
Following an executive session, the board took the following actions:
Hired Avery Smith as fourth grade teacher at Mt. Erie Elementary School for the 2026-27 school year.
Hired Jennifer Lewis as CMS Head Softball Coach.
The district looks forward to continued progress and upcoming events this spring.
