SIU CARBONDALE STUDENTS FEATURED IN CEDARHURST CENTER FOR THE ARTS PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION

The photographic talents of 12 Southern Illinois University Carbondale students and recent graduates will be showcased in a new exhibition at the Cedarhurst Center for the Arts in Mount Vernon.

Titled “University Spotlight: New Works from the Next Generation,” the exhibition will feature one work each from students in the SIU School of Art and Design and the Charlotte Thompson Suhler School of Advertising and Journalism. The show, displayed in the Mitchell Museum’s Beal Corridor Gallery, also includes works from SIU Edwardsville and Southeastern Illinois College in Harrisburg, for a total of 31 art pieces.

The exhibition will run through June 14th. Admission is free.
The SIU Carbondale students whose works will be on display are:

John Boucher, undergraduate fourth year, photography

Emily Brinkman, undergraduate third year, photography

Nicholas Degidio, undergraduate second year, communication design

Gabby Flores, undergraduate third year, metalsmithing

Lylee Gibbs, undergraduate fourth year, photojournalism

Caroline Kendall, undergraduate fourth year, art education

Olivia Luesing, undergraduate third year, photojournalism

Dominique Martinez-Powell, December 2025 graduate, photojournalism

Jewon Rias, undergraduate first year, photography

Riley Sembler, undergraduate second year, photojournalism

Dakota White, undergraduate first year, management and a minor in photography

Olivia Zambetta, undergraduate fourth year, printmaking

The Cedarhurst Center for the Arts is located at 2600 Richview Road in Mount Vernon. The facility is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Cedarhurst is closed Mondays and national holidays.
