Fairfield was led by Boston Isaacs who went 1-3 with a 2-run homerun and 3 RBI’s, and Jesse King who went 3-4. Isaacs also picked up the win for the Mules going 4 innings, giving up 3 hits and 2 runs with 6 strikeouts.  The Mules are 2-1 on the season.

Cisne was led by Tucker Bowen who went 2-4 with an RBI and Nate Spitzner who went 1-3 with an RBI. Shane Locey took the loss going 5 innings giving up 4 runs on 3 hits and 3 strikeouts

Fairfield was led by Malori Simpson who went 2-4 with 3 RBI’s, Kenry Hutchcraft 2-3 with a Double and 2 RBI’s, Kiersten Vaughan 1-3 with a Double, 2 RBI’s and 5 Stolen Bases, and Serenity Dagg 1-4 with 2 RBI’s. Kenry Hutchcraft picked up the win with a 2-hit shutout, striking out 7.

The Chicago Bulls avoided disaster with a 132-124 win over the Houston Rockets at United Center. The Bulls led by as many as 22 points before Houston rallied back to take the lead in the fourth quarter. However, Josh Giddey and Matas Buzelis knocked down threes on back-to-back possessions to put the game away. Collin Sexton led the way with 25 points off the bench, while Buzelis chipped in with 23. Chicago improved to 29-and-42. The Bulls visit the 76ers tomorrow night.

The St. Louis Cardinals scored a run in the top of the eighth during a 3-2 exhibition win over the Springfield Cardinals at Hammons Field. Alec Burleson and Trey Paige both homered in the victory, while Dustin May struck out four over four scoreless innings. St. Louis is now set to open the season at home Thursday against Tampa Bay. First pitch is at 3:15pm and the game can be heard on WOKZ-FM 105.9 on the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Network. The St. Louis Cardinals top prospect has made the team. Infielder JJ Wetherholt was placed on the Opening Day roster yesterday. Wetherholt was a first round pick in the 2024 MLB Draft. The 23-year-old hit .306 with 17 home runs, 59 RBI’s, and 23 stolen bases in 109 minor league games between Double-A and Triple-A last year.

The St. Louis Blues will try to get on a winning streak when they host the Washington Capitals at Enterprise Center tonight. The Blues are coming off a 3-1 road win over the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday. St. Louis is in seventh place in the Central Division with 67 points. Tonight’s game starts at 7:00PM. In other team news, the Blues signed forward Felix Trudeau to a two-year entry-level contract yesterday.

The Chicago Blackhawks aim to avoid a third loss in a row when they visit the New York Islanders at UBS Arena tonight. The Hawks are coming off a 3-2 overtime loss to the Nashville Predators at home on Sunday. Chicago is in last place in the Central Division with 65 points. Tonight’s game gets underway at 6:00PM.

>>Report: Seahawks Ink WR JSN To Record Contract

(Seattle, WA) — The Seahawks will reportedly sign wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba to a contract that will re-set the market at the position. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Seattle will sign last season’s Offensive Player of the Year to a four-year, $168.6 million contract extension. The deal includes $120 million in guaranteed money, the most ever for a receiver. Smith-Njigba caught 119 passes for a league-high 1,793 yards to go along with 10 touchdowns for the Super Bowl champion Seahawks.

(Foxboro, MA) — The Patriots are making a change to their quarterback room. According to ESPN, the Pats are releasing veteran backup Joshua Dobbs. The 31-year-old was scheduled to earn a base salary of a little over three-million-dollars in 2026. The decision comes after New England decided to sign Tommy DeVito to a two-year deal after not tendering him as a restricted free agent. A number three quarterback is still expected to be added to the roster later in the offseason.

(Tempe, AZ) — Arizona State hired former Saint Mary’s coach Randy Bennett as its men’s basketball coach on Monday. Bennett had led the Gaels since 2001, guiding them to four WCC tournament titles and 12 NCAA Tournament appearances. The Mesa, Arizona native reportedly signed a five-year deal to return to his home state and will bring associate head coach Joe Rahon with him. Saint Mary’s promoted associate head coach Mickey McConnell to replace Bennett.

(Cincinnati, OH) — Cincinnati men’s basketball is solving its head coaching problem. ESPN reports the school hired Jerrod Calhoun for the position on Monday. The Ohio native just led Utah State to the second round of the NCAA Tournament before falling to Arizona. Calhoun went 55-and-15 in two seasons with the Aggies. He replaces Wes Miller, who took Charlotte’s head coaching position after spending the last 15 years with the Bearcats.

(Omaha, NE) — Creighton head men’s basketball coach Greg McDermott is calling it a career. The school announced that the Bluejays’ longtime coach is retiring after the season following 16 years leading the program. The 61-year-old won 365 games at the school and has a career record of 514-and-319 over 25 Division One seasons while the head coach at Northern Iowa, Iowa State and Creighton. He led the Bluejays to the Elite Eight in 2023 and has led his teams to 13 overall NCAA tournaments throughout his storied career. Alan Huss will take over as Creighton’s head coach.

(Undated) — The Hurricanes and Kraken are heading overseas as part of the NHL’s Global Series next season. The league and players’ association announced Monday that Carolina and Seattle will play in a pair of games in Helsinki, Finland on November 12th and 14th. This marks the second time the Canes are playing abroad and first since 2010. The Kraken are making their maiden voyage across the pond. The NHL has staged 42 regular season games in Europe since 2007.

(Chicago, IL) — The Chicago Cubs are locking down their superstar center fielder. ESPN is reporting that the team is finalizing Pete Crow-Armstrong to a long-term extension on Monday. The deal will reportedly be worth more than 100-million dollars. The 23-year-old made his first All-Star team in 2025, hitting .247 with 31 home runs, 95 RBIs, and 35 stolen bases in 157 games last season.

(Queens, NY) — The Mets will have a fresh face in the outfield to start the regular season. Manager Carlos Mendoza said Monday that prospect Carson Benge will be on the team’s Opening Day roster. The first round pick from the 2024 MLB Draft hit .366 in 46 plate appearances this spring. He batted .281 with 15 home runs, 22 steals and an .857 OPS in the minors last season. New York opens the season on Thursday when it hosts the Pittsburgh Pirates in Queens.

(Atlanta, GA) — The Braves can prematurely claim the “unluckiest team of Spring Training” award. Manager Walt Weiss told the media on Monday that Spencer Strider will start the season on the injured list with an oblique strain. There’s no timetable for the starter’s return. Atlanta already lost Spencer Schwellenbach and Hurston Waldrep in the rotation and were placed on the 60-day IL. Reliever Joey Wentz is out for the season with an ACL tear and Jurickson Profar was suspended the entire year after testing positive for P-E-Ds.

(Undated) — The Sweet Sixteen is set in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament. Virginia became the first double digit seed to advance to the second weekend since 2022 and the first ever team to play in the First Four to advance that far by beating Iowa 83-75 in double overtime. Other upsets include sixth-seeded Notre Dame knocking off number three seed Ohio State and number five seed Kentucky beating fourth-seeded West Virginia. Number one seeds UConn, UCLA and South Carolina all advanced in lopsided fashion. Second-seeded Vanderbilt beat Illinois and three seed Louisville topped Alabama to round out the action. The tournament continues Friday.
