NEARLY 90,000 BOTTLES OF CHILDREN’S IBUPROFEN RECALLED OVER CONTAMINATION CONCERNS

Nearly 90,000 bottles of children’s ibuprofen are being voluntarily recalled after reports of possible contamination, according to a notice from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The recall was announced after Taro Pharmaceuticals received complaints from customers who discovered a “gel-like mass and black particles” in the medication. The affected product is Children’s Ibuprofen Oral Suspension, sold in four-ounce bottles with an expiration date of January 31, 2027.

The FDA stated that the medication was manufactured in India specifically for Taro Pharmaceuticals U.S.A. The presence of foreign substances in the bottles prompted the company to issue the recall out of an abundance of caution.

Consumers who have purchased the recalled ibuprofen are urged not to use the product and to contact Taro Pharmaceuticals or their pharmacy for further instructions. No injuries or health issues related to the recall have been reported at this time.

For more information, consumers can visit the FDA website or contact Taro Pharmaceuticals directly.
