A pretrial hearing was held Tuesday afternoon in Wayne County Circuit Court before Judge Denton Aud for 51-year-old Chet Snyder.
Special Prosecutor Jennifer Mudge appeared via Zoom, while Snyder joined via Zoom with Attorney Cross present in person. Both prosecution and defense agreed to set a new pretrial date for Tuesday, May 19th at 1:30 p.m. in Wayne County Circuit Court.
Snyder faces charges of unlawful sexual contact with two males, one of whom was a minor. Since his arrest in September of last year, Snyder has relocated to the Champaign area and remains free under pretrial conditions.
He is charged with three felonies, including two counts of criminal sexual abuse and one count of unlawful restraint, in addition to a misdemeanor charge of providing alcohol to someone under the age of 21.
Judge Denton Aud has ordered Snyder to have no contact with either of the alleged victims as the legal proceedings continue.
